Born in Billinge Dan began playing rugby at the age of five with the Orrell St James club before later joining the Scholarship Programme and Academy at Warrington. Having spent the latter part of 2015 with Avignon in France he joined Salford in 2016 where he later made his Super League debut against the Vikings. Loan and dual registration spells with a handful of clubs followed, including Halifax and Hull KR, which led to permanent deals. Naming his Dad and Wife as major influences on his career he adds that he has learned from all of his coaches, including his uncle who was a coach at Orrell. ‘Diz’ names his Super League debut and first Super League Try as his career highlights alongside his appearance for Halifax in the 1895 Cup Final win against Batley in 2023. Dan’s ambitions are to enjoy the game and go as far as he can in the sport. Away from rugby the ‘self-trained barber’ supports Liverpool FC and enjoys playing Badminton. Currently working as a Teaching Assistant he is studying to become a PE Teacher.
