Biography

Ryan, a former Sts Peter and Paul Catholic College student played his junior rugby for the Moorfield club and joined the Vikings Scholarship scheme at 15 years of age and progressed through the club’s Academy to make his Super League debut for the Vikings in 2016, during a season-long loan with Whitehaven. ‘Incey’ names his parents as the biggest influence on his early career and also pays tribute to his coaches and senior players as he progressed through the ranks to gain selection for England Under 16’s against France in 2013, and subsequent selection for the Under 18 squad. Returning to his home-town club after 31 tries in his 46 appearances, Ryan cites the Magic Weekend experience in Newcastle and the dramatic season-saving win in Perpignan, both in 2017, as his career highlights while his ambition is play regularly and enjoy his rugby. Combining his rugby with an apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering Ryan relaxes by playing on his Xbox and going to the cinema.
