Vikings’ Betfred Championship fixtures for 2022 announced

Widnes Vikings’ fixtures for the 2022 Betfred Championship campaign have been announced, with the season set to start on Sunday 30 January with a trip to London Broncos.

As confirmed yesterday, the Vikings will then host newly-promoted Workington Town in their opening home game of the season at 3pm on Sunday 6 January.

The Vikings’ first Monday Night Rugby League clash, live on Premier Sports, will be on Monday 21 February at Dewsbury Rams in a 7.45pm kick-off. Widnes will also fill the same bill in the following round when they host another newly-promoted side in Barrow Raiders at 7.45pm on Monday 7 March.

There’s another Monday Night Rugby League fixture in Round 7 when Simon Finnigan’s men travel to play his former side Newcastle Thunder in a 7.45pm start. The only other Monday night slot scheduled is a Round 12 trip to Sheffield Eagles for another 7.45pm kick-off on Monday 23 May, also live on Premier Sports.

Widnes host relegated Leigh Centurions in a tasty clash on Good Friday, 15th April with a 3pm kick-off scheduled at the DCBL Stadium.

The Vikings’ final home game of the 2022 campaign will be the visit of Halifax Panthers at 3pm on Sunday 4 September, with the final game of the season scheduled as a trip to Bradford Bulls for a 3pm kick-off on Sunday 11 September at Odsal.
