Widnes Vikings are back under the lights this Friday night as they host Salford RLFC in Round 21 of the Betfred Championship (7:30pm kick-off).
The Vikings will be aiming to extend their winning run to four games after last Saturday’s 24-8 victory over Barrow Raiders: a result that moved Allan Coleman’s side above their Cumbrian rivals and up to fourth place in the league table.
On Friday, they welcome Salford to the DCBL Stadium for the second meeting since their reformation following Widnes’ 32-6 win away at the CorpAcq Stadium back in May.

Head coach Allan Coleman has named his 21-man squad ahead of Friday’s game.
There are two changes following last week’s win over Barrow.
Coming into the squad are new loan additions Andrew Badrock and Nathan Wilde. The two who make way are Max Roberts and Morgan McWhirter, who is a doubt for the remainder of the season with an ankle injury.
Liam Bent and Matt Fleming remain sidelined, while Joe Edge is still unavailable due to concussion protocols.

Victories in recent weeks have seen Salford move within striking distance of a spot in the top 10, one point and two points adrift of Whitehaven and Dewsbury Rams in 10th and 9th respectively.
Salford have won four of their nine outings since their 32-6 defeat to the Vikings earlier this season.
They bounced back from that loss with back-to-back victories over Halifax Panthers and North Wales Crusaders, and despite defeats against Doncaster and Hunslet, they recorded a big 52-28 win against Workington, which was followed by a narrow 22-20 loss to Barrow Raiders.
More recently, Dave Hewitt’s side claimed another victory over Crusaders, convincingly beating them 64-4 at the CorpAcq Stadium, before a close-fought 30-24 defeat to Sheffield Eagles, which preceded a 62-4 loss at home to league leaders London Broncos last time out.

Tries from Ryan Brown and Danny Langtree, as well as braces from Mike Butt and Joe Edge, saw the Vikings record a comfortable 32-6 win over this Friday’s opponents.
Before this, Salford were unbeaten in their previous three meetings, which included a convincing 68-4 Betfred Challenge Cup third round victory. The Vikings’ last win prior to this run came in Round 7 of the 2018 Super League campaign, when they edged out Salford 24-16 at the DCBL Stadium.
