Leigh Leopards duo arrive on loan

Widnes Vikings have secured the services of Andrew Badrock and Nathan Wilde from Super League side Leigh Leopards on loan for the remainder of the season.

The pair have both enjoyed stints with the Vikings previously, and will go straight into the 21-man squad for Friday’s home game against Salford.

Badrock is a 25-year-old second-row or centre who played under Allan Coleman during his time at Swinton, and has featured five times this season for Leigh.

He previously featured twice for the Vikings last season, playing in the games against York and Toulouse, earning him the heritage number 1199.

Front-rower Wilde, 26, has had spells with Newcastle, Rochdale, Doncaster, Featherstone and Leigh, as well as making three appearances for Widnes in 2024. His heritage number is 1180.

Vikings head coach Allan Coleman said: “Andrew is a player we’ve had last year, and we saw the ability he’s got – pace, power.

“As soon as he had his time with us, he went back and became a regular in Leigh’s Super League side. He’s a fantastic athlete, and he’ll bring that speed element to us.

“Nathan is very experienced. He’s a modern-day middle, he can play long minutes, and he’s very intelligent and clever.

“I’m very excited, and the squad is looking healthier and stronger.”
