Hailing from Caerphilly Rhodri began playing rugby union at the age of 5 with Penallta RFC before taking up 'league' with sister club Penallta Storm at the age of 15 from where he joined the South Wales club where he made his senior debut. He later moved to Wigan, from where he made a brief loan move to Widnes in 2014, prior to spending the last 9 years with Swinton. The Welsh international, who has also represented his country at Under 16 & Under 18 levels and the Great Britain Community Lions, names his Dad and Mr Evans his PE Teacher at Ysgol Cwm Rhymni school as the major influences on his career while his ambition is to enjoy playing and reach the playoffs. His career highlights include representing Wales in 3 World Cups and scoring a try at the Millenium Stadium against Italy. Cardiff City fan 'Rod' also follows the LA Lakers as he combines rugby with his job as a PE Teacher at St Bede's High School in Ormskirk.
