Biography

Returning to Widnes following a year with Keighley Warrington-born Lloyd played his junior rugby with local sides Crosfields and Rylands Sharks before joining the Widnes Scholarship programme at the age of 14. While completing a BTEC National Diploma in Sport Lloyd continued to progress through the ranks and made his senior debut in a Challenge Cup-tie against his hometown club Warrington Wolves in 2017 – which he names as his career highlight to date. Having recovered from a knee injury sustained in 2018 ‘Lloydy’ made a strong return to first team action with 14 tries in 23 games in 2019, while the versatile Back’s ambition is to continue to enjoy playing and get back to his previous level of performance. He cites the support of his family as the major influence on his career, particularly during the recovery from his ACL injury, while away from rugby he is a keen supporter of Manchester United and follows horse racing while working in the construction industry.
