Biography

Born in Warrington former Woolston High School pupil Ant began playing rugby league with the Woolston club, having grown up watching his uncle, later a big influence on his career play for the same club, before moving on to Blackbrook Royals and subsequently signing for St Helens. He names his Saints debut and representing Wales in the 2013 and 2022 World Cups as the highlights of a career which suffered a four year hiatus, just two days before leaving for Australia for the 2017 competition, due to an inborn brain condition, before his children inspired him to make a return with Bradford in 2021. During that period ‘Walks’ undertook coaching roles with Rochdale and Wales Under 19’s and is currently working towards his Level 3 qualification as his long term ambition is to return to coaching on a full-time basis, while his current aim is to play in every game. Away from playing rugby he is a Liverpool FC fan and enjoys playing golf while also coaching the Blackbrook junior players and working as a landscape gardener.
