All Time 17 – Second Row vote now open

This week we will be asking supporters to vote for their second rowers in the All-time Widnes 17, following the launch of the initiative in partnership with Halton Borough Council.

To help ‘Celebrate Halton’ during the 2021 Borough of Culture, the club have partnered with the Council in order to honour some of the most iconic figures of our past.

Each week supporters will be voting on a different position, as well as a Head Coach, which will culminate in the Executive Boxes at the DCBL Stadium being renamed and redecorated to honour the 18 chosen by you.

The purpose of this initiative is to honour the pioneers and trailblazers who helped put Widnes and Halton on the map with their efforts for the club, recognising home grown talent alongside those who came to the town and left a lasting mark.

Throughout this week we will be showcasing a number of second rowers who have pulled on the club’s colours over the years, reminding supporters of their achievements. These will include players from our most successful eras, as well as players who have represented the club more recently with distinction.

Our showcase of these players will not constitute a shortlist, instead the vote will be open for supporters to choose any player for the relevant position that they feel deserves the honour.

The two second rowers with the most votes will see Boxes 11 and 12 renamed and redecorated in their honour as a tribute to all they have done for the club, town and borough.

We have emailed the vote to our database, and we have also included a link below in order to access the vote and select your second rowers for the All-time Widnes 17.

This is your chance to honour some of those players who have pulled on the colours of your team, and gone on to earn some of the highest accolades possible, as well as those who have had a positive impact on our club and community.
