Widnes-born Joe began playing rugby with the local Moorfield club before eventually joining the Widnes Scholarship Programme at the age of 14, progressing through the Academy system to captain the Under 19’s in 2017. ‘Joey’ pays tribute to the support of his family and the input of all the coaches he has worked with as he made his senior debut against Leeds Rhinos, an ambition held from the age of 6, in the 2018 Qualifiers as a career highlight, along with the 1895 semi-final victory at Leigh. With the added experience of 16 appearances in 2018 for North Wales Crusaders, including his first senior try, he has established himself as a regular member of the team over the last 3 seasons, passing both 100 appearances for Widnes and 100 career games during 2023. Away from rugby Joe has gained a degree in Construction Project Management and is a keen supporter of Manchester United.
