Ahead of Sunday’s visit of Oldham in Round 20 of the Betfred Championship campaign, we take a closer look at this weekend’s opponents.

Oldham arrive at the DCBL Stadium at the back end of a tough season, having won just two of their 18 games so far in the league.
They have faced the league’s top two teams in their previous two games ahead of this Sunday, losing 48-10 at home to Featherstone Rovers last time out after a 34-6 defeat at home to Toulouse Olympique.
The Roughyeds’ last win was back in May when they beat Halifax Panthers 16-12 at home, but they did manage a 22-22 draw with Swinton Lions last month.
Oldham sit two places below the Vikings in 13th in the current standings, with a win percentage of 13.89%.
VIKINGS CONNECTIONS
Widnes academy graduate Ryan Ince is due to line up against the Vikings for only the second time, after scoring 31 tries in 46 appearances in black and white between 2016 and 2019.
Lloyd Roby spent a couple of weeks on loan at Oldham last month, scoring a try on his debut against Swinton.
ONES TO WATCH
21-year-old forward Tyler Dupree has been one of the league’s best young players this season, scoring 9 tries in 15 appearances so far.
Second-rower Danny Langtree has 20 points this season for Sunday’s visitors, and has built up an impressive 376 points across his Oldham career so far.
HEAD TO HEAD
The Vikings beat Oldham by a scoreline of 18-40 at the Vestacare Stadium in Round 7 of this year’s Betfred Championship. Jack Owens and Deon Cross both bagged a brace while Jayden Hatton, Ste Tyrer and Jake Spedding also scored tries.
Cross has scored in his last three games against Oldham so will be hoping to extend that run this weekend.
Widnes have won eight of their last nine games against Sunday’s visitors, and three of their last four at home to them.
