Whitehaven ticket update

Following a Safety Advisory Group meeting on Friday afternoon, Widnes Vikings can confirm that all 2021 Season Ticket holders will be able to attend our home fixtures against Whitehaven, London Broncos and Sheffield Eagles.

The club have been awaiting the result of the SAG meeting before being able to inform supporters of the protocols in place for booking seats at the three fixtures mentioned.

Working alongside Halton Borough Council we have been able to ensure that a safe return for supporters is able to take place, in line with government guidelines and social distancing rules.

Together, we have successfully created a seating plan which adheres to these guidelines and can house all 2021 Season Ticket holders. General sale tickets will not be available for the Whitehaven fixture, and any updates on their availability for the following two fixtures will be released in due course.

We were hoping to have our ticket booking system online for this evening, however following some small amendments made due to the SAG meeting some updates will need to be made, meaning booking now be live from Monday 17th May.

This will give Season Ticket holders the opportunity to book all three fixtures in advance, ahead of their return to the DCBL Stadium.

Despite these restrictions, the hard work of our ticketing staff, ticketing providers and the Council have made it possible that no ST holders will have to miss out.

In the coming days, a number of communications will be released from the club revealing all the relevant spectator behaviour information, which must be adhered to at all times when attending limited capacity fixtures. These restrictions are in place to keep all supporters safe while allowing their return to the stadium to watch the Vikings live in action, and failure to comply can result in refusal of entry or ejection from the ground.

These communications will include information on concourse bars, toilets, wheelchair and disability access as well as arrival times for each section of the stadium.

Supporters looking to form a social bubble can email tickets@widnesvikings.co.uk with full information on their group, and we will book your seats for you up to a maximum of six. You will need to send over the names and email addresses of all supporters in your bubble, and inform us whether you’re booking for the Whitehaven fixture or all three.

Once an announcement is made regarding the next step of the governments’ road map, we will make a decision on how further home fixtures will operate, however we have to act in line with the restrictions in place regarding the situation with the pandemic.

We’re delighted to finally be able to confirm that our loyal supporters can once again see the Vikings in action, and although we know the circumstances are a lot different to what we are used to, everything we are doing is to keep you safe and abide by the guidelines in place.

We understand that non-Season Ticket holders will be disappointed by this news, however we have to prioritise our Season Ticket holders and with our socially distanced seating plan we were unable to house any additional supporters initially. As mentioned above, we will update supporters on any changes to this as soon as possible.
