VIKINGS FOUNDATION LAUNCH CROWDFUNDER TO SUPPORT WHEELCHAIR RL TEAM

Widnes Vikings Foundation is proud to launch a fundraising campaign to support the continued growth of our Wheelchair Rugby League team.

The club’s charitable arm, the Widnes Vikings Foundation, has launched a Crowdfunder campaign to raise vital funds for the purchase of new protective sports wheelchairs.

These chairs will allow more players to take part safely in this fast-paced, high-impact, and hugely enjoyable sport.

Simon Fox, Foundation Director and Chairman of Vikings Wheelchair RL, said: “Our Vikings Wheelchair RL team has been a great success this year and very popular with people of all ages. It’s a fast-moving, high-impact sport and bags of fun.

“Having the right protective wheelchairs to encourage more people to play, keeping them safe, healthy, and more active, is crucial.

“This is a great cause and we’d love the people of the Town to get behind it and donate in whatever way they can.”

The team has gone from strength to strength since 2024, offering inclusive sporting opportunities for players of all abilities.

By supporting this campaign, you’ll be helping the club provide a safer and more accessible environment for new and existing participants.
