FINLAY IRWIN JOINS VIKINGS FOR REMAINDER OF 2025

Widnes Vikings are pleased to announce the arrival of young forward Finlay Irwin, who has joined the club until the end of the season.

Irwin, 20, operates primarily in the back row or at loose forward.

Having initially played for Warrington at Scholarship level, the young forward joined Wigan, where he went on to play at academy and reserve level until 2024.

He then took the opportunity to go down under and play with the Brisbane Tigers. He now returns from Australia to link up with Allan Coleman and the Vikings on a deal until the end of 2025.

Head Coach Allan Coleman said: “Young Finlay was a part of the Wigan academy and reserves system for a good few years, and he’s been playing down in Australia recently.

“I know his dad well, and when we heard he was coming back to the UK, we thought it was a great opportunity to get him in until the end of the season.

“He’s a talented back row, so we’ll be able to get a good look at him now and hopefully he’ll be able to earn himself a contract for next year.”

Irwin will be available for selection this weekend.
