Born in Sydney Morgan began playing rugby at the age of 8 with his local club Terrigal Sharks on the Central Coast area of New South Wales before representing North Queensland Cowboys, Mackay Cutters, Sunshine Coast and Townsville in second tier competitions. ‘Kenny’ names his father Grant, a former professional with South Sydney Rabbitohs, as the major influence on his career while his immediate ambition is to help Widnes return to the top tier with a longer term target of securing a fulltime Super League contract. The former New South Wales Under 17 rugby union representative cites his first NRL contract with the Cowboys and his Queensland Cup debut at the age of 18 as the highlights of his career to date. Whilst in Australia and France Morgan also played in 50 second tier games scoring 5 tries. The Newcastle United fan enjoys surfing, fishing and cricket while away from rugby he intends to continue working with young offenders and disadvantaged people while in UK.
