Widnes Vikings made it three victories from three games with victory over Halifax Panthers in a tense Round 3 affair at The Shay.
Eribe Doro opened the scoring, jumping highest to put a Matty Smith kick down 25 minutes into the contest.
Joe Edge added a penalty goal before half-time, but Fax responded with a James Saltonstall try and a Joe Keyes penalty goal of their own to level the scores in the second period.
With the game set for a tense climax, Matty Smith kicked early for a drop goal to edge the Vikings ahead and steal the game.
