Widnes Vikings are delighted to announce the signing of Deon Cross on a one-year deal ahead of the 2020 season.
The former St Helens academy member joins the Vikings from Barrow Raiders, having spent the 2019 season with the Cumbrian outfit after starting out his Championship career with Rochdale Hornets a year earlier.
Deon finished last season as the Raiders’ top try scorer with 14 tries in 30 appearances, including a brilliant length of the field effort against Widnes at the Halton Stadium back in June.
In 2018, he impressed in his debut Championship campaign at former club Rochdale, crossing the try line 11 times in his 27 outings.
The versatile centre can also operate as a winger and at fullback, as he has plenty of pace to burn and possesses solid defensive attributes.
Cross will be hoping to cement his place in the starting 13 during the 2020 campaign, and will aim to help the club climb the Championship table.
