Widnes Vikings were beaten 32-10 by London Broncos in the 1895 Cup Final at the Haliwell Jones Stadium.
It was the Broncos who struck first after just six minutes, they moved the ball from left to right and found Neil Tchamambe, who had green grass to run into and crossed to score.
Despite conceding early, Allan Coleman’s side settled into the arm wrestle, and with 20 minutes played, managed to level proceedings when Danny Langtree crashed over from close range.
However, the London club struck back just four minutes later, Dean Hawkins received the ball ten metres from the line, and stepped a couple of Widnes defenders to cross for a try.
Widnes were keen to get points on the board, so opted to kick for two when they were awarded a penalty two minutes from half-time.
The first ten minutes of the first half were dominated by Allan Coleman’s side, and after a couple of sets on the line, the Vikings were awarded a penalty, which they decided to convert into two points once more.
London once again began to find a foothold in the game, and consolidated their lead when Luke Smith pounced on the end of a short kick to score.
Four minutes later, London added another. A kick on the last was spilt by Langtree in-front of the posts leaving Alex Walker with an easy put down.
Three minutes from time, Tchamambe added his second, followed by a Rob Mathias try on the hooter to bring the curtain down on a London victory.
