On Sunday 23 August, Widnes Vikings Foundation and Down Syndrome Cheshire are joining forces for the 213 event – a special match day collaboration at our home final home game of the regular season against Workington Town.
The number 213 represents the three copies of the 21st chromosome that cause Down Syndrome. For this event, it also means 2 causes, 1 fixture, and 3 activations: a digital prize draw, stadium fundraising, and Crunch for a Cause biscuit sales.
All money raised on the day will be split 50/50 between both organisations.
About the causes:
- Widnes Vikings Foundation: Based at the DCBL stadium, the Foundation delivers innovative sporting, educational, and welfare programs across Halton to empower individuals, boost health, and break down barriers for disadvantaged groups.
- Down Syndrome Cheshire: A regional charity dedicated to empowering people with Down syndrome, offering lifelong support, advocacy, and community programs so members can thrive and lead fulfilling lives.
Fans can support both charities right now by entering the digital prize draw online, with winners announced live at half-time.
