Widnes Vikings earned themselves two points on the road and made it three games on the spin without conceding, running out 48-0 winners against Hunslet in West Yorkshire.
It took 16 minutes for the deadlock to be broken, but when Widnes found themselves with space on the right edge, Ryan Ince took full advantage and raced away for the opening score of the game.
Allan Coleman’s side stretched their advantage 10 minutes later when a long pass from Nathan Connell found Mike Butt, who dived in at the corner.
Connell then added a score of his own when he took the ball 10m out and simply parted the Hunslet defence to stroll under the posts.
The Vikings were keen to carry some positive momentum into the second half, and got their first try of the second period before the hour mark when Adam Lawton took a short pass from Jordan Johnstone and breezed through the Hunslet defensive line to cross under the sticks.
Just over 10 minutes later, Dan Abram dropped the ball five metres out from his own in-goal, which allowed Sam Wilde to simply pick up the pieces and get himself on the scoresheet.
Connell then got himself a brace for the afternoon when he arrived as support for Tom Gilmore’s line-break, taking the short pass and racing under the posts.
Widnes were really putting Hunslet to the sword, and Jack Billington was the next to get himself a try, taking a short pass from Jack Owens and powering his way through the hosts’ line to score.
The Vikings rounded off the scoring for the afternoon when Matty Fozard took the ball out of acting-half 10m out and steamed through to score under the posts.
