Widnes Vikings’ loan players enjoyed a productive week in action, with strong performances across the Betfred Championship helping their respective sides to important wins.
Toby Hughes and Deacon Connolly both featured for Salford RLFC in their impressive 29-18 victory over Hunslet at the CorpAcq Stadium.
Hughes started at scrum-half and played a pivotal role in the contest, producing a crucial drop goal in the closing stages to extend Salford’s advantage to two scores and seal the result.
Connolly lined up at centre and completed the full 80 minutes, delivering a composed and energetic display in defence and attack as Salford secured another valuable win.
Elsewhere, Kieran Taylor made his first appearance for Rochdale Hornets, starting in the second row and getting on the scoresheet in their 24-10 victory over Keighley Cougars.
Taylor’s try helped the Hornets maintain their perfect start to the RFL Championship season.
