The Vikings’ wheelchair team has been making an impact off the pitch this month, helping to inspire the next generation to get active and try new sports.
Players took part in VPX on the Road in Warrington, a community event designed to give young people the chance to try different activities and discover new passions.
Over four days in August, the event welcomed more than 6,000 children and young people, with the Vikings’ wheelchair sessions proving to be one of the most popular attractions.
PCSO Tony Spruce, who organised VPX, praised the team for their commitment and energy throughout the week.
He said: “The Vikings wheelchair team was extremely popular and never stopped working across all four days.”
“The feedback from kids and parents has been amazing, and considering all this took place in the heart of Warrington, that is some achievement.
“A huge thank you to Leanne, Andrew, and all the wheelchair team for their support of VPX. We look forward to working with them again at future events.”
The Vikings continue to show their dedication to growing the game and making rugby league accessible to everyone, both on and off the field.
