Widnes Vikings are thrilled to announce that Head Coach Allan Coleman has signed a contract extension with the club.
Coleman has now committed his future to the Vikings by signing a new two-year deal, which includes an option for a third year. This agreement will see the Head Coach remain at the helm until at least the end of 2027.
Allan’s coaching career spans multiple levels of rugby league and rugby union. He began his journey at Leigh Miners Rangers, where he led the senior team to several National Conference League titles.
After a successful stint in rugby union with Tyldesley, he returned to rugby league with Swinton Lions, guiding them to promotion to the Championship in 2022.
Since taking over at the Vikings in 2024, Coleman has overseen 41 games, with a record of 23 wins, 17 losses, and 1 draw. He led the club to its first playoff finish since relegation in 2018, achieving this milestone at the first time of asking.
Vikings Chairman, Stuart Murphy said: “Allan has made a significant impact since joining the club. His passion, leadership, and understanding of what this club means to the town have been clear from day one.
“We’re thrilled he’s committed his future to our project and look forward to what we can achieve together over the coming years.”
On his contract extension, Coleman said: “I’m delighted to extend my stay as head coach of this great club.
“I feel as though in the last 18 months we’ve established the right ethos and our youth development is really on the up. This club is right for me, I want to be somewhere where it means everything to the fans and it certainly does here.
“It’s been an absolutely wonderful 18 months with this club and now that I’ve got another two and half years to go, I’m over the moon. I can’t wait to see you all here on Sunday.”
Since arriving at the DCBL Stadium, Allan has brought stability and a clear vision to the club, and this new agreement reflects our shared ambition to build long-term success on and off the field.
