The Vikings women welcome eight new recruits ahead of 2024.
Head Coach Dom Dean broke down the profiles of each of the new additions to his Vikings Women’s team and what they will bring.
Sammy Traynor
Sammy is joining us from Wigan St Pats after spending 10 years there. She has also had a period playing for Wigan U19s. Sammy plays hooker and is one of two that the Vikings have brought in this year.
Lily Wilkinson
Lily is joining us from Warrington and is the second player in the hooker position. Lily is an experienced player who is keen to develop and improve.
Becca Thompson
Becca has come to us from Barrow Raiders and is an experienced prop that adds that extra punch in the middle of the park. Becca is currently recovering from knee surgery and will hopefully be fit and raring to go soon.
Hollie Jones
Hollie has joined us this season from Salford and has a wealth of Super League experience. Hollie is a very versatile player and we are really excited to have her on board
Chloe Richardson
Chloe is back in her second stint at Widnes. She’s got Super League experience playing for St Helen’s and Warrington and adds a wealth of knowledge to the squad.
Jen Williams
Jen joins us from Thatto Heath. She’s got an unbelievable work ethic and attitude. I’m really looking forward to seeing Jen this year, she’s another one who will be another great addition in the forwards.
Amber Neild
Amber joins Widnes on the back of playing university rugby league, she has shown some really good qualities during preseason and she is eager to consistently learn and develop.
Molly Rose
Molly comes to us from Wigan St Pats, with plenty of experience as a rugby league and rugby union player, she’s got pace to burn, unbelievable talent, and great potential. She will add a great threat to our back line.
