We can confirm that Eribe Doro’s loan deal from Warrington Wolves has been extended until the end of the 2022 season with no call-back option.
Eribe joined the Vikings on an initial one-month loan deal in January the week before the start of the season, and has appeared in all three of Widnes’ Betfred Championship games so far this year.
The 20-year-old scored his first try back in black and white in the victory over Halifax Panthers in Round 3, and spent time on loan at Widnes last season playing in the Vikings’ first three games including a try against tonight’s opponents, Dewsbury Rams, before being recalled by his parent club.
We teased the announcement via social media on Saturday, with Dec Gregory pedalling all the way from Warrington after causing organised chaos on the pitch on Thursday evening.
Then on Sunday, we revealed via TikTok how Warrington had been asking us to call them back, leading into our announcement today that there is no call-back option in the loan agreement so Eribe will be staying with us for the season.
On extending his deal, Eribe said: “I’ve loved my time at Widnes so far and I’m really enjoying my rugby.
“With the group of lads here, I think we can achieve some big things this year and I wanted to stay and be a part of that. I’m excited.”
Eribe is in the squad for this evening’s clash with Dewsbury Rams, live on Premier Sports.
