21-man squad: Newcastle Thunder

John Kear has named his 21-man squad ahead of Sunday’s Betfred Championship fixture against Newcastle Thunder.

The Round 7 clash will take place at the DCBL Stadium, with kick-off at 3:00pm.

Forward Owen Farnworth returns to the squad and could be in line for his first minutes of the 2023 season, having been sidelined since the Vikings’ pre-season defeat at St Helens at the end of January.

Ollie Brookes is also back in the 21-man squad, with Jordan Johnstone and Lewis Hatton missing out after suffering concussions during last week’s defeat to Toulouse Olympique.

They will both follow a graded return to action but should be available to face Dewsbury Rams in the Betfred Challenge Cup next week.
