Widnes Vikings are excited to announce the immediate signing of Ben Condon on a deal until the end of the season.
The 24-year-old Australian forward has made 17 appearances in the NRL for North Queensland Cowboys and Manly Sea Eagles, scoring 5 tries.
He also brings a wealth of experience in the Queensland and New South Wales cups, having made over 70 appearances for the Northern Pride, Mackay Cutters, and Blacktown Workers.
Having initially signed a deal with Leigh Leopards ahead of the current season, an injury derailed Condon’s arrival in the UK to join the Super League club. Having now recovered from injury, he pens a deal with the Vikings for the remainder of 2025, with an option for 2026.
The Queensland native operates primarily as a prop or second row. He is set to arrive in the UK on Tuesday and will go straight into contention for our clash with Oldham next Sunday.
On his arrival, Condon said: “I’m so excited to be part of such an awesome club and community, I can’t wait to get over there and rip in.
“I want to thank Allan, Stuart, and the board for organising to get me over there so quickly. I can’t wait to meet everyone.”
Head Coach, Allan Coleman said: “I’m absolutely over the moon, there’s been a lot of work behind the scenes for a couple of weeks now to get this over the line.
“It’s really exciting to get Ben, he’s probably the highest profile player we’ve brought to the club since I’ve been here. He’s a giant of a man, a tough, no-nonsense forward who won’t take a back step.
“Bringing him in typifies exactly where we want to get to as a club, and he comes in at the right time when we’re really thin on the ground for bodies, so it’s fantastic to get him.”
Welcome to Vikings Ben!
Signings like this are made possible due to the fantastic Widnes VIPS scheme in place to assist in strengthening the Vikings’ squad. If fans wish to sign up for the scheme, they can do so here.
