Fans can also purchase tickets from the club shop in Widnes Market from tomorrow.

The game has not been selected for TV coverage.

Head of Operations Chris Hamilton said: “We have listened to fans and avoided what was a big family day with Mothers Day as well as some big sporting events on the Sunday.

“In addition, we are conscious of the cost to fans of games that are not covered by season tickets. Therefore, by discounting tickets, we hope to try and get as many people to the DCBL stadium to cheer on the team.

“We believe the 6pm kick-off will also tick boxes with a lot of people and we know fans are looking forward to a game under the lights.”

He added: “Allan Coleman and the lads are excited to be playing at a later time, as night matches always generate extra excitement.

“It will also give both teams more time to prepare for the first league game of the season the following weekend.

“We hope, following the excellent win at Bradford in the last round, that we can get the loyal Vikings fans to come and get behind the team as both clubs fight for the chance to draw a Super League club in the next round.”
