Following a successful trip to Workington on Sunday, let’s see how the squad have come out of the other side heading into Dewsbury’s visit this weekend.
Last weekend we travelled to Cumbria as we faced Workington Town at Derwent Park in John Kear’s first game in charge of the club. We managed to come away will a well-deserved 38-0 victory, largely testament to a dominant defensive display. When opportunities arose, we posted points and overcame some adversity on goal-line defence but stuck solid for the full 80 minutes.
This weekend sees us back on home turf at the DCBL Stadium as we entertain Dewsbury Rams who fell short at home to Halifax Panthers at the weekend. We see this as another opportunity to gain more points in the Betfred Championship table heading into the latter end of the season.
We came through the Workington game unscathed and have everyone who played on Sunday available for this weekend’s game.
Lloyd Roby will undergo surgery on his ACL today and his recovery time frame could be between six and nine months. We will be giving regular updates on Lloyd’s rehab process and wish him a speedy recovery.
Eribe Doro will be unavailable for this week’s game with a sternum problem. Eribe will return to training when his symptoms allow.
Josh Johnson has started running on the field again with the Strength and Conditioning staff, and will be looking to return to full team training within the next couple of weeks.
Ste Tyrer is progressing well with his rehab after suffering a shoulder injury against Bradford last month. Ste is a couple of weeks away from a return to full training.
Aaron Brown missed last weekend’s game at Workington with a groin issue. He will be assessed by the medical team through the week to determine whether or not he will be available for this weekend.
Brad Holroyd is recovering well from a minor quad issue and has returned to running with a view to joining in full training soon.
Will Tilleke, Joe Edge, Jake Spedding and Lewis Hulme are all available for selection this weekend.
