Born in Newcastle, New South Wales Jake has played rugby from the age of 5. He represented South Newcastle, Central Newcastle and Western Suburbs before embarking on a senior career with Central Queensland and Sunshine Coast, scoring 9 tries in 20 games. After linking up with Halifax, Hunslet and Whitehaven he joined the Vikings in May 2025. ‘Maizo’ names the continued support and encouragement of his parents as the biggest influence on his career as he went on to win representative honours for the Newcastle Representative side (Under 12 – Under 18) and North Sydney Bears (Under 16 – Under 18) . Naming his appearances for Italy in the 2022 World Cup, scoring three tries on his debut against Scotland, as the highlight of his career to date Jake’s ambition is to win the Championship with Widnes. Away from rugby he enjoys spending time on the beach and follows most sports.
