Widnes Vikings will be holding weekly Touch Rugby games on the pitch at the DCBL Stadium between 5pm and 6pm starting next week for both school-age children and senior players.
All are welcome to come along and join, either as an individual or as a 6-a-side team. Each team will be entered into a weekly league to win the ultimate prize of playing on the pitch before one of our pre-season games.
Touch is an enjoyable, non-contact way to get fit and play with friends and is open to anyone regardless of age, gender or size.
Tuesday sessions will be held from 5-6pm and are for children under the age of 14. Age-group appropriate sessions will be held for different year groups to include children from Reception all the way up to Year 9, to ensure a fair and positive experience is had by all.
Thursday sessions will also be held from 5-6pm for the open age category. Adults and anyone over the age of 14 or School Year 10 are welcome to attend and will have the chance to play with members of our first team and Harry Roberts.
Sessions will cost £2 per player for individuals who would like to be placed on a team, or £10 for teams of five or six people ready to play.
The times for the sessions are as follows:
- Every Tuesday from 19th October – children aged 4-14 (Reception to Year 9) – 5-6pm
- Every Thursday from 21st October – open age (age 14+) – 5-6pm
All are welcome to come along on the day, and no pre-booking is needed to attend. Please arrive in the car park of the DCBL Stadium and our staff will direct you onto the pitch for the session.
All attendees are reminded to bring studded or bladed footwear to use on the pitch and NOT trainers.
