Widnes Vikings head coach John Kear insists his players must show real signs of improvement following their 24-16 victory over Newcastle Thunder.
In a controlling position at 24-0 heading into the final 10 minutes, a late flurry of tries for the visitors meant they would finish the game with 16 points to their name.
