Widnes Vikings halfback Joe Lyons has said that he is delighted to be staying at his hometown club for at least another two years after signing his new deal today.
In his first interview since signing his new deal, Joey talks about how he watched the Vikings as a youngster and is now making his dream come true to pull on the shirt and play in front of the fans he used to sit with.
“I’m made up to be staying,” Joey said. “It’s something I’ve always wanted to do. We’ve got a good group of lads here and I’m looking forward to next year already.
“It was always my dream to play here and to do it week in week out in front of these fans who I used to sit with as a kid, it means a lot to me and my family.”
