Widnes Vikings are delighted to announce that Frank Sergent has signed a one year extension, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2027 season.
The 20 year old joined the club at the start of the season, and after a long injury recovery, the winger has gone on to score nine tries in five appearances for the Vikings.
Sergent also played an instrumental part in the young Vikings side that took the field away at Sheffield Eagles in the final round of the Betfred Championship regular season.
On his new deal, Frank Sergent said: “I’m so excited to get another season at Widnes locked in, I’ve really enjoyed my time here so far despite the rough start with injury.
“I think we’re building something special here at the club, both on and off the pitch, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be apart of it.
“Looking forward, I’m just determined to showcase more of myself moving into next season.”
Head coach Allan Coleman said: “it’s fantastic for Frank, we signed him last year as young project, we knew he’d come good, and when he got back fit, he’s shown everyone what he’s about.
“He’s been really patient with Butt and Ince because they’ve been outstanding for us, but every time Frank has been called upon he’s been superb.
“He’s certainly one for the future, he’s part of the next generation we want to try and build at the club, so I’m over the moon that he’s going to stay with us.”
