Over the course of the coming weeks, we will be showcasing all 2020 Kit and Training Range Sponsors, with Widnes based company FAB Formwork and Reinforcement Limited the latest brand to be featured, and Widnes Vikings are delighted to announce they have become Official Kit Partners for the 2020 season.
The local business was launched three and a half years ago by Antony and Sammy Navin, providing a number of services including re-enforced concrete, shuttering and steel fixing.
FAB Formwork employs over 60 people, with 80% of their workforce coming from in and around the Widnes area, mirroring their dedication towards being a local employer that shows support for our local community.
The Widnes-based company offer an extensive range of services both Regionally and Nationally with an outstanding reputation.
After taking out a number of sponsorship packages throughout the 2019 season, and also supporting the club’s fundraising efforts during administration, the FAB Formwork brand will be proudly displayed on the Vikings’ 2020 First Team shorts.
Antony Navin, Managing Director of FAB Formwork, commented: “FAB Formwork and Reinforcement Limited are delighted to become 2020 Official Kit Partners of Widnes Vikings, and we’re excited to see our brand proudly displayed on next season’s playing shorts.
“We got involved with the club during administration, as we donated to the ‘Save Our Club’ cause, and have an affinity with the Vikings as a business and a family.
“Earlier in the season, we took out the Man of the Match Sponsorship Package for the fixture against Bradford Bulls to surprise our son Bobby with the honour of presenting Jack Owens with the award at full-time.
“Bobby is a huge Vikings fan and he was even given the opportunity to join in with the team song in the changing rooms, surrounded by his heroes, which is an experience he will never forget.
“Widnes Vikings means a great deal to us as a family, and being in a position to support them through our business is a privilege.”
Sammy Navin, Director at FAB Formwork, added: “Our son Bobby has been a Season Ticket holder with the club for a number of years now, with my family taking him home and away to watch the Vikings in action.
“When the club were in administration, we decided that we had to get involved in helping save the club, not only to support the team but to also get behind the town, our family and our friends who have been lifelong supporters. At the end of the day, what is Widnes without a rugby team?
“We made the decision to sponsor the Vikings for the 2020 season prior to the 1895 Cup semi-final at Leigh, and when the players pulled off that brilliant victory it was incredible to see the fans celebrate returning to Wembley, especially after all they had been through.
“My Nan recently passed away and we found her Wembley programs and merchandise from years gone by, as she was a huge fan. My Mum also visited Wembley to watch the club in their period as ‘Cup Kings’ on numerous occasions, and the stories she has are endless. Everyone who was lucky enough to have been born during those years has their own tale of watching the club play at Wembley.
“It is great now that we can make our own memories of Widnes playing at Wembley, and share those with our grandchildren one day.”
Dave Rolt, Widnes Vikings Head of Commercial, concluded: “On behalf of the club I would like to thank Antony and Sammy Navin of FAB Formwork Reinforcement Limited for showing their support of the Vikings for the 2020 season.
“It is great to have them onboard as a new Official Kit Partner, although they have backed the club throughout the current season on a number of occasions in a commercially capacity.
“They are a brilliant local employer who are passionate about our great club, and we are looking forward to a long and prosperous relationship in 2020 and beyond.”
