The Widnes Vikings Extra Time Group, supported by State of Mind, Zero Suicide Alliance, and the NHS Mersey Care Foundation Trust, has been shortlisted for a national mental health award.
The National Positive Practice in MH Awards 2025 have confirmed that the Extra Time Group has been shortlisted for the category of ‘Peer support’.
On the nomination, Vikings Foundation Trustee, Ste Cash said: “We are extremely proud to have been shortlisted, in the ‘Peer support’ category, for this nationally recognised award.
“The group, supported by State of Mind Sport, has been established since 2018 and meets regularly on Tuesdays at the DCBL Stadium.
“I would like to give a special mention to Sean Mellor (Vikings Foundation) and Dr Phil Cooper (State of Mind Sport) for their commitment and support in running the sessions.”
The awards ceremony will be on the evening of Thursday 19th June at Stoke City FC, bet365 Stadium, Stanley Matthews Way, Stoke-on-Trent, ST4 4EG.
Winners will be announced on the evening.
