The Widnes Extra Time group has been recognised for its contribution in the Peer Support category at the 2025 Positive Practice Awards.
The programme, supported by State of Mind, Zero Suicide Alliance, and the NHS Mersey Care Foundation Trust has received a ‘Highly commended’ award.
Foundation Trustee, Ste Cash said: “Widnes Vikings Extra time group is extremely proud to have been nominated and shortlisted in the peer support category at the Positive Practice Awards held recently at Stoke City FC.
“The awards are recognition for the work the program has done in support of men’s mental health in the area. On the night, the team received a ‘highly commended’ award in a section dominated by NHS trusts.
“Thank you to Sean Mellor from the Vikings Sports Foundation and Dr Phil Cooper from State of Mind Sport for all their hard work in supporting and running the programme.”
A massive congratulations to all involved. A just recognition for all the fantastic work you do.
