ADAM LAWTON RETURNS TO VIKINGS ON TWO WEEK LOAN

Widnes Vikings are pleased to confirm that Adam Lawton has returned to the club on an initial two-week loan from Oldham.

Lawton, 31, made 87 appearances for the Vikings over two spells with the club, crossing for 40 tries.

The powerful forward departed the DCBL Stadium at the end of 2023, landing in Oldham, where he has gone on to make 24 appearances over the last two seasons.

The club hopes to provide further details of a permanent addition to be finalised in the coming weeks.

On Lawton’s arrival, Head Coach Allan Coleman said: “The opportunity came up to bring Adam back to the club on loan. Obviously, he’s a Widnes lad and knows what it means to play for the club.

“With the ability he’s got, we feel as though he’s not getting the opportunities he should at present, and he was really eager to return to Widnes and showcase his abilities.

“He’s a really powerful forward who scores plenty of tries, he gives us a bit more punch in the pack, and we’re really excited to see how he goes.”

Lawton will be available for selection ahead of Saturday’s trip to London. Tickets are available HERE.
