Widnes Vikings are delighted to announce that Ted Chapelhow has signed a new one-year deal with the club.
Ted is a product of the Vikings’ Academy, having started his journey at the club in 2011.
Along with his twin brother Jay, Ted moved his way through the system, via a short spell away from the club at Whitehaven, into the first team squad as a hard-running prop forward.
Ted, who carries Academy international honours playing for England U18s against Australia, made his debut for the Vikings in the 2016 season, away to Castleford Tigers in Super League.
The 24-year old is now a member of the Vikings’ Club 20 initiative, and was the club’s highest appearance maker in 2019, playing 32 times for the Vikings throughout the year.
Ted currently stands at 53 appearances for Widnes Vikings, scoring three tries.
Ted Chapelhow says: “I’m buzzing to get it over the line and get it sorted.
“I think everyone knows that I love this club and to play for Widnes for another year is just fantastic. I’m looking forward to getting back in, ripping in with the boys in pre-season and having a good year in 2020.
“For me, why change something that you love doing? And I love playing here. It’s nice to sign up, get it all sorted out, and I can’t wait for everything to start moving forward.
“For me, hopefully I can stay injury-free and replicate my numbers from 2019.
“Despite the circumstances of last year, it was probably the best year that I’ve enjoyed my rugby, so I want to build on that and help the lads on the field next year.”
