Widnes Vikings prop forward Will Tilleke has agreed a new two-year deal, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2024 season.
Born in Widnes, Tilleke was invited to attend trials with the Vikings at the age of 17 and went on to represent the club at Under 19s and Reserve grade level.
The former Lancashire Under 15s and Under 16s representative broke into the Vikings first team in 2021, scoring twice in 25 appearances.
At the end of the 2021 season, he was also named the club’s Young Player of the Year.

Last season, he featured nine times for the Vikings in total, and also made a solitary appearance whilst on loan at North Wales Crusaders.
On signing a new deal, Tilleke said: “I’m over the moon. There’s nowhere else I’d rather be playing my rugby.
“It’s a great club with such great history behind it, and as soon as I spoke to John and he talked about wanting me to stay, there weren’t really any other options in my mind.”

Following a number of new signings and retentions in recent weeks, Tilleke says his aim for the upcoming season is to try and feature in John Kear’s matchday squad on a consistent basis.
“With the new competition for places, it just makes everyone better because everyone has to up their game,” he added.
“The harder you work, the closer you are to that spot on a matchday, and for me personally, that is what I need. A bit of competition to make me hungrier.”
