Widnes Vikings are delighted to announce that, starting with Sunday’s home game against Featherstone Rovers, the club are launching a brand-new Fan Zone.
The Fan Zone will take place pre and post-match, in the Sports Hall at the Lowerhouse Lane end of the ground under the West Stand. The Fan Zone will open from 1.30pm until kick-off time pre-match, and then from the final hooter until 7pm.
We will be doing this for every home game now, and are really hopeful people will get behind this.
Head of operations Chris Hamilton said: “We want to try and develop the fan experience at the ground and make it more than just coming to watch a game.

“Of course, the game will always be the centrepiece of what happens, but we are really keen to provide extras to our fanbase and this is the latest offer.”
Post-match on Sunday will see local solo artist Liam Hillier on stage, singing a range of covers and his own songs.
We will hope to have local artists showcasing their talents both pre and post-match at every game from now on, and we are keen to hear any suggestions from fans for things we can incorporate into the Fan Zone.
This Sunday, we will have football on the tv screens, and we are delighted to announce that in a further extension to the new working relationship we now have with the Council, there will be a special 10% off all drinks, both before and after the match for fans.
In addition to that, we have also been able to secure another profit sharing arrangement which will see the club benefit financially from every drink fans buy, again both before and after the match.

Fans will also be able to purchase food post-match.
After the game, fans will also be able to see the presentations of the Man of the Match and Champagne Moment winner, as well as hearing from head coach John Kear.
We really hope fans will back this latest idea, arrive at the game early, stay late and have a great time, whilst also helping the club financially.
