Widnes Vikings will be honouring Doug Laughton’s legacy at next Sunday’s match against Barrow Raiders.
Doug’s contribution to our club, both as a player and a coach, has left an indelible mark on Widnes and the sport of rugby league as a whole.
To celebrate his life and remember his many achievements, we will be holding a minute’s silence before the game.
This will provide a chance for fans and players alike to pay their respects to a true legend of the game.
Also before the match, we will show images of Doug Laughton and his numerous accolades on the stadium’s big screen, giving fans a glimpse into his remarkable career.
In addition, highlights from some of Doug’s most memorable matches, both as a player and coach for Widnes, will be played around the Stadium concourses.
As a fitting tribute, we also encourage all fans to wear their retro shirts in memory of Doug Laughton. Whether it’s from his playing days or his time as coach.
A number of Doug’s former players will also be present at the match.
