The Vikings will host Whitehaven on Sunday 14 January (3pm kick-off) at the DCBL Stadium in Jack Owens’ Testimonial fixture.
Owens, who has made 156 competitive appearances for Widnes, has been awarded a 3-month testimonial in 2024 and details of his Testimonial fixture can now be confirmed.
The match is a chance for fans to support the Vikings captain as he embarks on his 11th season with the club. It will also be another early season opportunity to see the new-look Widnes side in 2024.
On the fixture, Owens said: “It’s amazing to finally announce my testimonial fixture vs Whitehaven.
“I am looking forward to celebrating this and hopefully, it is an event that when I retire from this sport, I can look back at with fond memories and be proud of what this game represents.
“Everyone who knows me well understands what it means to me to play for Widnes Vikings.
“From a young boy sitting in the North Stand as a supporter, to now captaining my hometown club and celebrating a testimonial is truly an amazing feeling and one that I do not take for granted.”
He added: “I understand the fixture announcement leaves a short lead time to the game, but I hope as many fans as possible can make it to the game, not only to support my testimonial but to support all the Widnes Vikings players and staff, as we prepare for the season in 2024.”
TICKETS
Tickets can be purchased in both the South Stand and the North Stand, however, seating will be limited to blocks E, F, G, H in the South Stand and blocks D, E in the North Stand.
Whitehaven fans should purchase tickets in block H of the South Stand.
Accessible tickets are available for the South Stand first floor (silver seating) and in the North Stand (north east seating)
Stewards will also be able to direct any fans who need assistance finding accessible seating on the day of the game.
