Widnes Vikings can announce their 2020 Attendance Targets ahead of the start of the campaign on Sunday afternoon, when they take on Oldham RLFC.
As the club heads into a new season, it is important to remain open and honest with supporters as to how aspirational the club is aiming to be this year.
With that in mind, the club have decided to reveal their Attendance Targets for both home and away support during 2020, with the aim of increasing attendances year on year.
Throughout the season, supporters will be made aware of the progress made by the club and of any amendments to the targets initially set.
In 2020, the club will be making a conscious effort to be as innovative as possible while attempting to improve the match day experience for those visiting the DCBL Stadium this year.
By doing this, the club are hoping to see an increase in the percentage of Season Tickets used at every home game in 2020, while also driving an increase in walk up ticket sales. Walk up tickets are classed as any non-Season Ticket attendees who purchase a ticket in advance or on match day.
With the club also receiving 20% of all away ticket sales made directly through the Vikings, there is also an emphasis on increasing the amount of tickets sold through the club ahead of away fixtures. If supporters chose to purchase away tickets from the club instead of on match days, it will directly benefit the club financially.
Over the past 12 months the club has received incredible support both home and away, and are hoping to see that replicated in Tim Sheens’ first season as Head Coach.
This support has seen the club sell over 2,000 Season Tickets ahead of the first home fixture of the season against Batley Bulldogs on Sunday 9thFebruary, a number that bypasses the total amount of paid-for Season Tickets from 2019.
As a club, the Vikings are looking to continue to increase those numbers again in 2021, and are hoping to see more and more Junior Season Ticket holders carrying on the proud tradition of the club for many years to come.
The club are hoping that supporters can get behind all initiatives launched throughout the season that are aimed at growing attendances, in order to help reach all of the targets set prior to the season getting underway.
An infographic can be found below with all 2020 Attendance Targets, and supporters are reminded that updates on the club’s progress will be given throughout the season.
