The Vikings Learning Centre is now enrolling ahead of the start of the new academic year, with courses available for those aged 16-18 and 19+ delivered in partnership with Riverside College.
The FREE courses are taught from the home of Widnes Vikings, with access to a classroom based at the DCBL Stadium, and can help you gain accredited qualifications to help you make the next step in your education or employment journey.
By studying with the Vikings Learning Centre you will access a host of benefits, which includes bolstering your CV and managing relationships in the workplace.
Completion of our courses will also help you to learn valuable skills surrounding interviews, ICT and time management, which will aid you in securing employment and developing vital skills.

NCFE Level One Certificate – Sport Studies & Employability Skills
Our Sport Studies & Employability Skills course is perfect for students who have an interest in sport, are determined to gain qualifications and have tried other courses but are looking for something new and engaging.
With a mixture of Practical and Theory sessions, we will develop your skills and knowledge of the course, pushing you to re-engage with education.

- NCFE Level One Certificate – Sport Studies & Employability Skills
- Course starts Monday 2nd November 2020
- Students must be aged 16-18
- Lessons take place Monday-Wednesday during term time, running 9am-3:30pm
- Mixture of Practical and Theory throughout the course
- Face-to-face teaching in small groups, with excellent support and guidance to help you progress to the next step in education or employment
- All lessons are based at the DCBL Stadium, home of Widnes Vikings
- Work Experience placements will be available during the course, including opportunities to work with the Vikings
- Bursaries and Bus Passes are available to those who are eligible
NCFE Level One Award – Employability Skills
If you are aged 19 or older and are struggling to find work, our six-week Employability Skills Course is perfect for you.
This course will help you develop your skills and earn an accredited qualification which will make you more employable, helping you take the next steps in your employment journey.
So, if you would like to make employment opportunities more accessible and achievable by gaining tools to make you work ready, improve your confidence and improve your motivation, then sign up for our Employability course.

- The six-week programme takes place Mondays and Tuesday, running 9am-2:30pm
- Face-to-face teaching in small groups, with excellent support and guidance to help you progress to the next step towards employment
- All lessons are based at the DCBL Stadium, home of Widnes Vikings
- Support can be provided to assist with transport costs if necessary
- Each six-week course limited to 10 places (there will be a number of courses throughout the academic year)
