VIKINGS CONFIRM DEPARTING PLAYERS

Widnes Vikings can now confirm the players who will be leaving the club following the conclusion of the 2025 season.

As announced last week, Vikings’ Vice-Captain, Rhodri Lloyd, has retired from professional Rugby League, having featured in his final career game in Sunday’s defeat to London Broncos.

His Welsh international teammate, Rhys Williams, also departs the club as he announced his retirement ahead of kickoff yesterday.

Declan Patton, Gavin Bennion, and Brett Bailey will all also be departing as of the 30th of November, with the club choosing not to offer them new deals.

Lewis Hall, Ben Condon, and Finlay Irwin remain in discussions regarding 2026. No agreements have been finalised at this stage, with updates to be provided once their futures are confirmed.

Allan Coleman had the following message for all our departing players: “A massive thank you to all those players who’ve been with us this year.

“You’ve got to be ruthless in this business, and we can’t keep everyone, so we’ve had to make some really tough decisions.

“I can’t thank all the players who are moving on enough for their efforts; they’ve been fantastic to have in the group, and we wish them all the best.”
