This week, the Widnes Vikings Sports Foundation welcomed over 300 pupils to the DCBL Stadium to take part in their World Cup festivals.
This was WVSF’s opportunity to get as many schools as possible involved in rugby league activity prior to the Rugby League World Cup Finals.
Since September, we have been working with several schools across the Halton area, coaching rugby and developing pupils’ knowledge of the sport, building self-esteem and improving physical activity.
Over two days of action, the pupils played some excellent rugby, and it has been fantastic seeing plenty of smiling faces, watching pupils put 100% effort into the games and seeing friendships grow.
We would like to thank all the staff and pupils who attended our festivals, and an even bigger thanks for braving the weather!
We hope that all participants enjoyed it as much as we did.
