Widnes Vikings will take on Whitehaven at the DCBL Stadium on Sunday 28th March in the second round of the Betfred Challenge Cup, with kick-off confirmed for 5:00pm.
Supporters will be able to watch the game LIVE over on The Sportsman, via their website, YouTube channel and Facebook page, with a link to their live stream being shared on the day of the match.
Widnes booked their place in the second round of the competition after an 11-try display saw Simon Finnigan’s side run out 58-4 winners over West Wales Raiders.
Whitehaven overcame a red card in order to defeat Dewsbury Rams 23-16 in their first round tie, setting up a trip to the DCBL Stadium.
There is an extra incentive for both sides this season, as victory will not only secure a place in the third round of the Challenge Cup, but it also sees the victors advance to the semi-finals of the 1895 Cup.
The new format of the 1895 Cup means that this weekend’s winners will be 80 minutes from Wembley, and will also join all 12 Super League teams in the hat for the Betfred Challenge Cup.
