Widnes Vikings can confirm that halfback Toby Hughes has joined Salford RLFC on loan.
The move will see Hughes link up with the Betfred Championship side to gain further senior experience, and he is in line to feature in their clash with Oldham this Friday.
The club has retained a call-back option on Toby should he be needed.
Head Coach Allan Coleman said: “It’s vital that our fringe players get game time consistently. We need Toby to be match fit if we get injuries and have to call upon him.
“He’s a young half who’s developing well and playing regularly is key for him, so it’ll be great to see how he goes on Friday.”
