THREE VIKINGS NAMED IN WALES SQUAD

Three Widnes players have been named in the Wales 19-man squad for their upcoming internationals against Ireland.

The Vikings have the joint-highest club representation in the squad, alongside the London Broncos, who also have three players included.

Played across consecutive weekends on Saturday, 25th October, and Saturday, 1st November, both matches will kick off at 3pm.

Game one will take place at The Gnoll, Neath, and the second clash will be at the Millennium Stadium, home of Featherstone Rovers.

Our selected Vikings are Mike Butt, Matty Fozard, and Rhodri Lloyd.

Butt and Fozard hold their places from last Autumn’s World Cup Qualifiers, whilst Rhodri Lloyd, who played his final game at Club level last month, will make his final bow on the international stage.

The second row, born in Caerphilly, still holds the record as Wales’ youngest ever player when he made his debut in 2010 at just 17 years of age. He has gone on to appear in 19 games for Wales, including three World Cups, crossing for six tries.

Congratulations lads!
